Heidi Tempest is a Consultant Urological Surgeon; appraiser and educational supervisor at the Oxford University Hospitals Trust; author and urology clinical lead for the health tech company Doctor Care Anywhere.
Heidi Tempest qualified from the University of Cambridge and then undertook her basic surgical training in Norwich. She was part of a research group in Oxford and then returned to the University of Cambridge to do full time research, completing a doctorate in human bladders with the award of a higher research degree (MD) in 2004.
Her specialist registrar training in urology was undertaken on both the Cambridge and Oxford schemes. She did a fellowship at the Stone and Bladder Centers in Vancouver, Canada before returning to Oxford and being appointed as Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2011.
During her time as a consultant, she has been part of the Oxford stone team, performing complex stone surgery; ran specialist lower urinary tract clinics and developed multiple new services. Currently she specialises in core urology, day surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
Outside of her clinical work, she is an educational supervisor to trainees at all stages of their training and a supervisor at the University of Oxford. She is actively involved in medical technology, including developing new urology pathways and has an interest in holistic health and well-being.
